Last Weekend with Riley

This post is a little late in getting put up. These are from last weekend. We spent some time with Riley Cakes at the house (aka Angie training - which was a huge success), took her to Sweet Tomatoes to hang out with Andie, and then swung by my mom's for a quick visit.

By the end of the day Anthony was wiped out. Love it!

2012-2013 Honors Luncheon

Here are the professional photos from the scholarship luncheon that took place last month. I received two awards this year thanks to the history department's wonderful donors, myself for applying, and the professor who recommended my name for both of them. Yipee for free money for school!

Camping at Del Valle Regional Park

This past Saturday night Anthony and I drove out to Del Valle for a single night of camping. Sometimes you just need to get away and spend time doing nothing, you know?

I really loved it. This place is so open and it is seriously huge! Next time we are planning to spend a day at the lake before camping. We will definitely be back this summer!
Angie thinks she is a princess.
This is how you fan the flames and turn them into a real fire. We always seem to have a hard time with this part.
A frisbee can double as a game and a plate. Genius move.

Saturday with Riley

We had a busy, busy day this past Saturday. We woke up and headed out to meet Chelsea, her mom, Kelle, and Chelsea's adorable son Andrew (aka Mr. Crazy Energy) at Starbucks. Mary was at work so we took Riley with us for the morning. Andrew had so much fun showing Riley his books and giving her a big fat kiss before we left. It was hilarious! You tell a kid to kiss a forehead and he goes for the lips. Too funny!

Anyway, after that we went by Casey and Nicole's house to say hi to Nicole and Saige, who were having a garage sale. I found a pretty legit drawing in their shower. You're so talented Nicole!

Then, we went by my mom's house so she could get some Riley time in. She loved it, of course.

After that I spent the rest of my day at Julianne's baby shower. It was BEE themed and super cute. If you ever need self affirmation just give Julianne a gift to open. She will make you feel good about your purchasing power, for sure.

Before the sun went down we managed to get all packed up and out to Del Valle for the shortest of camping trips. Those photos will follow in tomorrow's post.

It really was such a fun Saturday. We couldn't ask for better friends and family in our lives.

Honors Convocation 2012-2013

I was recently given the title of Dean's Scholar, based on high GPA performance in the last two contiguous semesters. The 2012-2013 Honor's Convocation was held last Friday at the Event Center on campus. A whole bunch of my favorite people in this world were able to come out and celebrate with me on campus, and afterward at Pizza My Heart.
COSS is my school, though I sometimes wish we were considered part of the Humanities.
That's me on the screen! hehehe
Eddie and I are both Dean's Scholars (so basically we are cooler than you) JK!
standard. just standard.
After we ate dinner I took Anthony on a mini tour of my favorite spots on campus, and into my current classrooms (he wanted to see which desk I sit in for each of my classes). It was so fun to show him where I am when I'm not with him at home.
Thank you again to everyone that came out. It means A LOT to me, really!
